What are the Correct Installation Steps for Industrial Doors?
Installing an industrial door requires precise measurement, proper alignment, and secure fixing. Below is a step-by-step guide to ensure a safe and efficient installation process.
Step 1: Industrial Door Preparation and Measurement
Before installation, measure the door opening carefully and check all dimensions. Identify the highest point on the ground.
- Keep a clearance of 0.5–0.8 cm between the lower guide wheel and the door panel
- Maintain 6 cm distance between the hanging rail and the door panel
- Fix the buried rail firmly to ensure it can support the weight
Pendant spacing depends on door size:
- Over 10㎡: 60–80 cm
- Under 10㎡: 80–100 cm
Leave 15–20 cm at both ends of the rail. Use standard ¢10 expansion screws, or wall-through bolts for hollow walls. Ensure the rail level error is within 5 mm.
Step 2: Industrial Doors Panel Installation and Adjustment
Hang the door panel using screws, washers, and nuts. After installation:
- Adjust vertical alignment and balance
- Control bottom clearance at 0.5–0.8 cm
- For double-opening industrial door, align both panels based on the centerline
Step 3: Industrial Door Guide Wheel and Ground System Installation
Install guide wheels to stabilize the industrial door:
- First guide wheel: 5 cm outside the doorway
- Second guide wheel: at 60% of door width
Additional steps:
- Weld the middle collar securely
- Install ground pin with 2 mm protrusion
- Welding spacing: approx. 50 cm
- Handle height: 130 cm (outer), 120 cm (inner)
- Install latch 5 cm below the handle
Step 4: Test Operation
Check the overall performance of the industrial door:
- Apply lubricant to hanging wheels
- Smooth and polish welded areas
- Apply protective paint
Step 5: Install the Baffle
Install the baffle based on the number of pendants:
- Each pendant corresponds to one support shelf
- Ensure the baffle is vertical and balanced
- Keep joints clean and visually neat
Step 6: Industrial Doors Final Cleanup
After installation is complete:
- Clean the worksite
- Remove debris
- Pack tools and restore the area
